New recycling facilities: Clothes bank
A clothes bank, the only one in the estate, is now available at the entrance of the estate on Jarrow Road
Ferry Lane resident, Serena, has launched a new project, Waste Not, funded by Veolia and supported by the Council. Ferry Lane Estate is the first location for the campaign. The project aims to reduce the number of items thrown away which could be used by other people; things like furniture, clothing and shoes, baby items, books and household clutter. The UK discards 640,000 tonnes of reusable items every year. Let’s do our bit to reduce this and help out people who may not be able to afford to buy new items. There are posters up around the estate. For more information go to www.kindcycle.uk |
